The Thorough Restore goes beyond surface cleaning. We lift every mat, scrub the floor underneath, sanitise all interior surfaces, and eliminate the ammonia, bacteria, and mould that accumulate in the places a regular wash never reaches. Behind breast bars. Inside partition padding. Under feed mangers. Around rivets, hinges, and drainage points.
If your float has a lingering smell, visible staining under the mats, or hasn’t had a professional detail in more than a few months, this is where to start. We strip it back, clean it properly, and hand it back to you in a condition that’s genuinely safe and hygienic for your horse.
Recommended every 6–8 weeks for regular travellers. At minimum, twice per year – once before competition season and once before storage.

How long does a Thorough Restore take?
Typically 2.5 to 3.5 hours depending on the float’s size and condition.
What if the floor has corrosion under the mats?
We’ll flag it with you during the detail. We can clean and treat the area, but structural repairs would need a float mechanic. Catching it early is the whole point.
Is this safe for horses with respiratory issues?
Absolutely – this is exactly the service we’d recommend. Removing ammonia, mould, and bacteria from the float environment directly reduces respiratory irritants.
How is this different from the Quick Refresh?
The Quick Refresh is a surface-level maintenance clean. The Thorough Restore lifts all mats, deep scrubs the floor underneath, sanitises every interior surface, and eliminates embedded bacteria and odour. It’s a full reset.
Can you clean a float that hasn't been detailed in over a year?
Yes. That’s exactly what this service is designed for. Expect it to take a bit longer, and we may recommend the Shine & Protect upgrade if the exterior needs protective finishing as well.
